BBQ!!!

tonight rocked!!

youth actually organized a bbq but they didnt have a venue so michelle(my cuzzy!!)asked my mum if they could use our place so that's how it was...

First i have to make some shoutouts!!

Kevin is this really handy guy who brought all the bbq stuff(inclusive of the coal and the equipment like the skewers and the thing where u actually cook the lamb skewers on!!),cooked the bbq for all of us (inclusive of starting the fire and heating up the coals...and the cleaning up too!!)AND he baked a cake!multi purpose guy...too nice too..he refused to give my cousin the receipts so that the youth could divide the cost and pay him...*tsk tsk...We ALL owe it to him for the great food!Thank you!!!your efforts, generousity and time inspires us all to be more gentleman-like and we appreciate it!!!

next to Xin!who never fails to organize everything from the youth's transportation(especially Andrew!) to the trivia questions which he must have spent hours meticulously created in power point form...he even brought the projector and everything!!because of your planning and dedication to EMYF,tonight we all had fun in our 'friendly competition'!!As team 1 won(go team 1!!!!!i was in this group..hehehhe),i would like to say an extra thank you!!!hehehhe...can't believe Adrian was his assistant...hehehe...Adrian was like running round collecting our answer sheets and marking them for the teams so that Xin could calculate the final score for the teams...hope he wasn't a nuisance tho...hehhe..So once again..Thank you Xin for always being the roots of EMYF,making sure that everything runs smoothly..oh ya!congrats on the success of the camp you organized last holiday!!!hahah...knew you could do it!

ok...lets get to the details of the bbq!!

firstly,kevin and felicia(my other cuzzy!!) came with all the food and equipment and we started cooking...then slowly ppl came in with food like pita bread and crackers with a delicious variety of dips(homus,advocado,tomato salsa,chilli cream cheese,...i think there's a garlicy or onion one but they all tasted so good....yummmm),then there's the yummy fruit pastry and lemon slices that rei jing made...crap!!!they r SO SO SO good...she's an amazing chef but as always,she hides her true potential under that modesty...then there's the salads,CHAR KUEH TIAU!!!!!(smoky flavour incuded too...*droool....)then there's the peach,pancetta,rocket,mint and chedddar cheese salad with the balsamic vinagrette...albert cooked it up in my house..(i had to be his kitchen hand...=p)it was lovely too...
but best of all was the yummy yummy meats on skewers..lamb,chicken wings and sausages....that was the works of kevin...yummmy....he used curry powder and a sprinke of chilli powder to give it that kick...that is the true taste of bbq!!
